They a not overwhelming, but still strong and pleasant. I am a paraplegic and use a manual wheelchair full time. It's hard to keep my hand soft and clean. I have been keeping a jar at the sink and scrub my hands throughout the day. It not only makes them softer and cleaner. But the smell is great! I also have arthritis in my hands and scrubbing them with the sugar scrubs along with hot water feels amazing. I have also been using the butter cream and love it. We live in Missouri close to KC.
